    'National forests are not national parks': Logging debate in Whites divides forestry experts, environmentalists

    They are going to CLEAR CUT! Not go in and do some kind of nice job of cleaning up the forest. If they were cleaning up, rather then clearing up, then yes..it would be a good thing. But Clear cutting is not helping anything or anyone that we know about. And the article clearly says that the state doesn’t want nor need the wood generated from this project. So why are they doing it exactly? Why CLEAR CUT 1% of NH’s National Forests every year ? It will take forever, but eventually..our National Forests will be destroyed. Something is not being told here.

    I too agree that it would hopefully help in the prevention of a catastrophic fire, generate money, housing materials and create a healthier forest.
