Depending on your state, the taxes in both countries are similar. Except you enter the highest tax bracket in the UK at a much lower threshold.

Of course they will raise taxes. Socialist economics is actually people picking the pockets of their neighbors. They are then taxed so the government can redistribute the wealth. A great scheme that can’t work without enough pockets to pick. Immigration brings in more pockets unfortunately they are empty but not for long the government will just redistribute the wealth. Unfortunately the shares become less with each additional pocket until everyone is equally miserable and broke.
