    I picked up a painted dresser for $8.00. Stripped it and found golden oak with glass handles under layers and layers of paint. I had just wanted it for out of season clothes. But when finished we were immediately offered $500.00 for it.

    Disagree with all but #5. Snap up whatever you like. I clean secondhand items to within an inch of their lives, restoring them to looking like NEW. Their materials & workmanship are often superior to new items. These tips are mostly from high-end (snooty) businesses who want to flaunt their superior knowledge. Fine. The rest of us will continue to use our own savvy, thank you. 🕰️
