Naturally, the Young brothers came to mind as suspects, though we figured it didn’t make sense since they’d probably instead (hopefully) be putting that energy into a new Twitching Tongues record. Meanwhile, that very same day, Colin Young debuted a new band called Holy Blade that sounds a whole lot like a tribute to late ’90s AFI. Colin plays guitar in the band, and he’s joined by his God’s Hate/Twitching Tongues bandmate Alec Faber on vocals/guitar, Twitching Tongues’ Mike Cesario on bass, and his friend Mac Miller of Cosmic Joke on drums. Colin and his brother Taylor co-produced the band’s self-titled debut EP, which arrives tomorrow (8/13) via Closed Casket Activities.

Additional dates for the East Coast have been revealed. Due to overwhelming demand, The Doobie Brothers have announced additional New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut dates for The 2024 Tour. The band will play The Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, New York on September 30th and October 1st, the Borgata Event Center in Atlantic City, New Jersey on October 4th, and the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut on October 5th. The 2024 Tour follows The Doobie Brothers’ 50th Anniversary Tour which has had Tom Johnston, Michael McDonald, Pat Simmons, and John McFee back on the road together for the first time in over 25 years.
