Michigan is one of 12 states that does not allow DUI checkpoints because they violate the state constitution. However, police can still pull over vehicles and conduct investigations if they have reasonable suspicion of a DUI. Signs of suspicion include: Swerving, Traffic violations, The smell of alcohol, Slurred speech, and Other indicators of impairment.
