Humidity levels have been creeping higher since Saturday and we are going to be back in the soup for today as well as the week ahead. We will also be dealing with a series of waves moving around the Bermuda high. It is building into the Southeastern US. A southwest flow aloft is bringing up ripples in the flow. It will not be raining all the time but there will be some downpours and a few heavier thunderstorms to deal with during the week ahead.

The remnants of Debby unleashed 1-4″ rain upon our region Friday, with areas receiving over 5″! The week leading up to Debby’s arrival featured ample antecedent rainfall which created significant flooding as some areas received over 6″ for the week!. Wind gusts of 30-40 mph resulted in widespread power outages.

A slow-moving frontal boundary will drop south across the region today and tomorrow, triggering showers and storms today and an area of rain on Tuesday. This boundary extends west to east roughly across Lake Ontario this morning. An area of rain and storms over Canada has moved out over the northern waters of Lake Ontario. This area of precipitation is expected to stay out over the lake until it passes east of the Finger Lakes.
