HBO and its streaming service Max are making sure fans get a chance to catch the kickoff of the Colin Farrell spin-off series The Penguin. The network announced that not only will the show debut on HBO on Sept. 19 at 9 p.m. ET, it will also re-run the premiere multiple times over that weekend, including Sept. 22 at 9 p.m. ET. Fans can also catch up with the show on Max, naturally, but Sundays at 9 p.m. ET will be reserved for the debuts of all subsequent episodes of the eight-installment series on HBO and Max. Episode 2 debuts on Sept. 29. As reported, Oscar winner Farrell reprises his acclaimed role from The Batman, Oz Cobb aka The Penguin, and the show centers on his rise to power in Gotham City after the events of Matt Reeves' blockbuster.

Some of the most beloved episodes of Star Trek: The Original Series are laugh-out-loud comedies. Although the 1966-1969 series is often lauded for its ahead-of-its-time diversity and heady science fiction concepts, what all of this serious praise leaves out is that Star Trek was really fun, and often, quite funny. In fact, for decades, the most consistently cited fan-favorite episode of them all was David Gerrold’s 1967 romp, “The Trouble With Tribbles.” And when you start looking at some of the bright spots of TOS, more and more comedic episodes start cropping up. From “Shore Leave,” to “I, Mudd,” to “A Piece of the Action,” Star Trek is often hilarious.

Star Trek Could Suddenly Return To a Hidden Tradition

Apple TV+ has given a second season renewal to its sci fi series Dark Matter which is based on the book of the same name by Blake Crouch (and is not to be confused with the 2015 Syfy series that was cancelled after three seasons). That show did not make it into the Nielsen Streaming Rankings during its first season run, and it did receive mixed reviews (though it currently holds an 83% Fresh Ratings and 83% Audience Score on Rotten Tomatoes), but apparently it has performed well enough compared to other originals on the streaming service. The first season ended on a somewhat ambiguous note (as did the novel it is based on), and now the show will be able to carry on the story and further explore its universe. Since Crouch is the executive producer and showrunner of the series, he will be the perfect person to build on the story as it goes beyond the novel. He had the following to say about what to expect from the show going forward:
