A former “Grey’s Anatomy” star is returning for Season 21 after spending 17 years away from the show. 

Kali Rocha, who played Dr. Sydney Heron from Seasons 2 to 4, will have a three-episode guest arc in the upcoming season, Deadline reported on Thursday.



In 2006, Rocha, 52, joined the cast of the hit ABC series as a fourth-year resident who takes over Miranda Bailey’s (Chandra Wilson) role of overseeing the interns when Bailey goes on maternity leave.

Sydney later ran against Bailey and Callie Torres (Sara Ramirez) for the Chief Resident position, but she lost.

At the Television Critics Association’s summer press tour on July 11, 2024, executives introduced the company’s new Hallmark+ streaming service, which will take over for Hallmark Movies Now in September. Among the programming to exclusively appear on Hallmark+ is a lineup of the company’s first-ever “reality shows with a heart,” including Jonathan Bennett and Melissa Peterman’s “Finding Mr. Christmas” and the previously-announced “Celebrations With Lacey Chabert.”

Actor Philip McKeon died at only 55 years old in 2019 following a long illness. He was best known as Tommy, the young son of Linda Lavin's waitress/aspiring actress role on TV's long-running sitcom, Alice. The show, which originally aired on CBS from 1976 to 1985, was a small-screen adaptation of Martin Scorsese's big-screen movie, Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore. In that acclaimed film, released in 1974, and the subsequent TV pilot episode, Alfred Lutter III played Tommy. Philip McKeon took over the role after that.

Dorothy Dandridge was one of Hollywood’s first Black sex symbols and the first black actress to be nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actress. Around 1930, Dandridge relocated to Los Angeles, California, with her family. A few years later she found success with her new musical group, the Dandridge Sisters, which included sister Vivian and their friend Etta Jones. The group landed gigs at the famous Cotton Club in Harlem and performed with top acts such as the Jimmie Lunceford Orchestra and Cab Calloway. As an African American singer, Dandridge confronted early on the segregation and racism of the entertainment industry. She may have been allowed on stage, but in some venues, she couldn't eat in the restaurant or use certain facilities because of the color of her skin."
