in the side of Georgia it is against the law for a landlord to raise your rent from month to month without proper notice according to Georgia law they have to provide a 60-day notice of any changes in your lease or the amount of rent that you pay. I would suggest somebody read their lease agreement if they have one if they don't have a lease agreement there's a problem there. because you are required to have a lease. start with a complaint to the fair housing they called the Better Business Bureau or you can always take it to Matheson the mayor he's really actually a pretty guy.

well first off I would start by filing a complaint with the fair housing in Georgia very easy to do you can do by email or do by mail handwritten. then I would start by filing a complaint with the Better Business bureau. then I would also call the local Health Department and make a complaint about the conditions of the infestation bugs whatever it is somewhere on the line between the three of those they will start bringing the hammer down. make sure you take pictures if there's mold in there take pictures you see bug infestation take pictures make sure you document everything save every piece of paperwork that they send to you photocopy it whatever you need to do save it the more you document the more evidence you have any threats letters anything save it. I would suggest making copies of it you have a file so you have something you can send them so you keep yours. eventually they will get in trouble. but changing the rent from one month to the next without any notification is illegal
