While Hurricane Debby moves across Northern Florida today, we are sitting in the steam bath today though it isn't quite as bad as we saw last week. Today over Eastern Pennsylvania to Southern New England it is going to be a hot humid day. Thunderstorm activity however is probably going to minimal unless you are north of Route 84. This is where the Storm Prediction Center has elevated risk for severe thunderstorms late this afternoon and tonight. The area covers much of Northern Ohio, Northern Pennsylvania, much of Upstate NY and interior New England as far north as Maine. As for temperatures here, sunshine should take highs into the upper 80s and lower 90s this afternoon. We will throw in the chance for an isolated shower or thunderstorm but activity should be far less than the last several days.

A slow-moving frontal boundary will drop south across the region today and tomorrow, triggering showers and storms today and an area of rain on Tuesday. This boundary extends west to east roughly across Lake Ontario this morning. An area of rain and storms over Canada has moved out over the northern waters of Lake Ontario. This area of precipitation is expected to stay out over the lake until it passes east of the Finger Lakes.

The system formerly known as Debby is long gone and now we can enjoy nice dry Canadian air for the next several days. Dew points will be slowly coming down today but they will still be on the high side into the afternoon. Look for decreasing clouds and increasing sunshine from west to east on this Saturday. High temperatures will be mostly in the lower 80s. Some warmer spots to the south could push it to 84 or 85 for a high. Dew points will be settling in the upper 50s to lower 60s by the end of the day. We have no issues with showers as the radars are going to be nice and quiet locally for awhile.

The biggest piece of weather to talk about is a large cold front associated with a low-pressure system that is moving abnormally far south for this time of year. This is a double-edged sword, as it will cool parts of the Southeast down, which has been sweltering for the last couple of days. The bad news is that areas ahead of the front are at risk for severe weather this afternoon through the evening. Parts of the Mid-Atlantic are under the greatest threat of severe weather today, with flooding being a major concern. As Tropical Storm Ernesto passes by the United States, hazardous beach and ocean conditions will exist for parts of the Eastern Seaboard.
