It should have been the biggest superhero movie of the summer – well, except for Deadpool & Wolverine – but Borderlands has flopped harder than the final season of Game of Thrones.

Borderlands 4 has been announced hot off the heels of the series’ film adaptation, with the game having a 2025 release window. It’s been almost 5 years since Borderlands 3 came out and, though its had a number of content updates since it released, the series has been long overdue for a new mainline entry.

The Borderlands movie looks set to hit streaming services as early as this month, if numerous reports are to be believed. Presumably because of how badly it flopped in cinemas, drawing in a paltry $14 million on its opening weekend, the Borderlands movie is apparently going to be available to stream on August 30th. Lionsgate hasn’t said anything officially, but multiple sites (The Hollywood Handle, Screen Time, When to Stream) are all listing the 30th of August as its expected arrival date.
