New maximum payment amounts for SNAP benefits have been announced by the U.S. Food and Nutrition Service (FNS). In October 2024, the top amount available for claimants of Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits will increase across all 49 states and U.S. territories. There is one state that will see its maximum benefit drop. The new maximum rates will be in place for the duration of the 2025 fiscal year until the Cost of Living Adjustment (COLA) is set again for the 2026 fiscal year.
