Kenny Omega continues to progress in his recovery from abdominal surgery, but there is still no expected date for his AEW in-ring return. A potentially life-threatening bout with diverticulitis forced Omega out of action in December 2023. He underwent surgery this May and his condition has been improving since. In the new issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer shared the latest on Omega’s recovery. Meltzer writes that Omega still has some pain, but he’s been able to train with moderate intensity. Omega cannot take bumps in the ring yet and there is no estimate for when he’ll be back wrestling:

Zachary Wentz looks for revenge. Zachary Wentz returned to NXT on August 20th, attacking his former friend Wes Lee after the main event. Lee competed in a triple threat match against Joe Hendry and Pete Dunne in the main event with the winner earning a shot at Ethan Page and the NXT Title at NXT No Mercy. Hendry pinned Dunne to earn his title shot, but the show wasn't over as Wentz went after Lee and was pulled away by security and officials.
