    Lebanon fire district changing ambulance services amid staffing, funding challenges

    At one point there was a glut of EMS personnel that created a low wages for these employees. Now many have moved on to higher paying jobs. But the medical facilities still don’t want to pair a decent wage for their service. So you get less service,with less availability staff. Then community’s expectations are on the fire service to pick up the slack. Many fire departments are voluntary. It’s going to get much worse, before it begins to get any better

    EMT's don't get paid for crap. I'm sure that part of the staffing problem. You could almost make the same amount of money working for McDonalds as you can working as an EMT, and you don't need any kind of education to work for McDonald's. If companies were to pay EMS better, then there would not be a staffing shortage.
