Bryan Danielson believes the sky is the limit for his Blackpool Combat Club protege Wheeler Yuta. “Wheeler has so much upside,” Danielson told Bleacher Report in an interview published on Thursday. “He’s an incredible human being and that’s the part I really look at with people. If you were to look at me when I was 27, I had a lot of holes in my game.”

Recently, there has been a lot of talk online regarding Ricky Stark’s future, with him not having been featured on AEW television since March. Additionally, when you add that his contract is known to be expiring later this year, many suspect he may intend to join his close friend Cody Rhodes in WWE. And now, indicating that it is a genuine possibility, Fightful Select has reported that WWE has a significant interest in the former NWA wrestler. 34-year-old Starks signed with AEW in 2020 after an impressive tryout match against Cody Rhodes on Dynamite. Subsequently, he became very good friends with his opponent on the night, even being spotted backstage at the 2023 Royal Rumble. However, speculation would go to another level, which would commence once he was spotted at WrestleMania XL, watching Rhodes finish his story in person.

WWE Reportedly Interested In Signing AEW Talent

Kenny Omega continues to progress in his recovery from abdominal surgery, but there is still no expected date for his AEW in-ring return. A potentially life-threatening bout with diverticulitis forced Omega out of action in December 2023. He underwent surgery this May and his condition has been improving since. In the new issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer shared the latest on Omega’s recovery. Meltzer writes that Omega still has some pain, but he’s been able to train with moderate intensity. Omega cannot take bumps in the ring yet and there is no estimate for when he’ll be back wrestling:

According to Will Ospreay, the recent AEW backstage incident between MJF and Britt Baker wasn’t as big of a deal as it’s been made out to be. Echoing similar comments by MJF, Ospreay told the New York Post that the incident was “the most completely blown out of proportion thing I ever seen in my entire life.” Ospreay did not want to get into specifics due to not knowing exactly what had been reported.
