I have always loved bats but never knew why until after I graduated from high school. The only thing I knew about them was that there was no way possible that the awful things people say about them could possibly be true. After I graduated from high school I discovered a book called "America's Neighborhood Bats" by Merlin Tuttle. Not only was it full of fascinating pictures, but one little brown bat (a common North American species)can eat 600 mosquitoes an hour! THAT'S 600/HOUR LESS TO EAT ME!!!! THAT IS PER BAT! They can eat two mosquitoes in a second,! I would love to see that in slow motion. That is only the beginning with those fascinating creatures. What most people think they know about bats could not be farther from the truth.
