Ubuntu 24.04.1 LTS has been released as the first point release of the current Long Term Support series that began in April with the "Noble Numbat" debut. Ubuntu 24.04.1 LTS incorporates all the stable release updates with security and bug fixes to the packages since the April release of Ubuntu 24.04 LTS. Thus on fresh installs it's a much quicker initial setup with already having four months worth of updates applied. The later Ubuntu Long Term Support point releases are more notable when they begin with new hardware enablement stacks back-ported from newer Ubuntu (non-LTS) releases to provide an updated kernel, better Mesa graphics driver support, etc.
