With a heat dome settling over the Midwest this week, you might hear the term “corn sweat” a lot. It refers to a process by which plants exhale water, called evapotranspiration. This process peaks in corn between mid-July and late August. When it occurs during a heat wave, it can lead to dangerously high dew points.

Angry Aurorans and Denverites on social media poked fun at the news media Friday as more information came out about Venezuelan gangs on the Front Range.
