    Global Electronics manufacturer announces layoffs in New Mexico

    Jabil Inc. has announced it will permanently lay off 130 employees at its Albuquerque, N.M. facility, part of Jabil Packaging Solutions. The affected facility serves the consumables, healthcare, and orthopedic devices markets.

    According to a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) letter sent to the New Mexico Department of Workforce Solutions, the layoffs will commence on September 13 and continue through October.

    In 2023, Jabil laid off over 1,403 and has laid off 302 employees in 2024. Jabil announced at the end of 2023 that they would be restructuring the company after making a deal with china's BYD Electronics to sell part of its business.

    New Mexico has faired Better than most states this year, with only three companies announcing layoffs and only 321 employees being laid off.
