( NewsNation ) — Los Angeles police have begun an operation that will result in multiple arrests being made Thursday in connection with the killing of “General Hospital” actor Johnny Wactor , according to reports.

ABC News , citing multiple police sources, said Thursday the LAPD is in the process of making arrests in the case months after Wactor was shot with provocation. Wactor was shot May 25 during an attempted theft of a catalytic converter in Los Angeles.

Wactor, 37, appeared as Brando Corbin in 164 episodes of the popular soap opera between 2020 and 2022. He also appeared in other shows such as “Westworld” and “Criminal Minds.”

TMZ reported that Los Angeles police executed search warrants Thursday morning that would lead to multiple arrests. The network said that police have targeted members of the Florencia 13 gang in connection to the slaying.

NewsNation local affiliate KTLA previously reported that investigators believe Wactor had ended his bartending shift in the early-morning hours of May 25 and was walking to his vehicle when he was confronted by three suspects who had raised the car with a jack, and one of them opened fire on him.

All three were wearing dark clothing. Wactor was reportedly shielding a co-worker from the gunfire.

I’m asking that anybody that knows anything please come forward,” the actor’s mother, Scarlett Wactor of South Carolina, said at a news conference outside Los Angeles City Hall in the days after the incident. “It will help me and his brothers in our healing to know that they’ve been captured and convicted.”

This is a developing story. NewsNation will update the story as more information becomes available.
