The group requested a meeting with the vice president over what they say is shared concern over U.S. tax dollars being used to fund the war in Gaza . Protesters clash with police: Protests on the second night of the Democratic National Convention ended in arrests after pro-Palestinian demonstrators clashed with police during a rally that began outside the Israeli Consulate. The interaction between protesters and police was intense at times, with demonstrators burning the U.S. and Israeli flags outside the consulate, spilling out onto the surrounding streets and forcing a road closure.
