( WJW ) — Approximately 137,000 cases of Popsicle products are being recalled because they may contain an allergen not properly listed on the label, according to a recall announcement from Unilever.

The recall applies to single-serve Popsicle Jolly Rancher Frozen Confection Pop products that are marked for individual sale. The ice pops, Unilever said, may contain milk despite not listing any milk ingredients on the label.

The pops were distributed nationwide between February and August 2024.

“Persons who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to milk run the risk of a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume this product,” the alert said.

The company said the recall does not apply to Popsicle Jolly Rancher multi-packs which are available in supermarkets, but rather single-serve Popsicle Jolly Rancher products sold at places such as “ice cream trucks, concession stands, and grab-and-go freezers.”

Specifically, the recall is limited to 2.71-ounce Popsicle Jolly Rancher Frozen Confection Pops bearing a UPC number of 077567003720, a GTN/UCC (Global Trade Item Number/Uniform Commercial Code) number of 10077567003727, or one of 11 lot codes:

So far, there have been two reported allergic reactions, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. Unilever and the FDA advise consumers to seek out a healthcare provider if they believe they’re suffering an allergic reaction as a result of consuming the Popsicles.

Customers who purchased the Popsicles should not consume them, Unilever said. They can also request a refund or further information by visiting PopsicleRecall.com.
