Some Ohio schools closed Tuesday for extreme heat

(WJW) — With extreme temperatures in the forecast, several Northeast Ohio schools have opted to close on Tuesday, which is expected to be the hottest day of the week.

Temperatures are expected to top 90 degrees in the area, with the heat index hitting 100 degrees, according to FOX 8 meteorologists .

Eight Northeast Ohio counties will be under a heat advisory on Tuesday afternoon: Ashland, Erie, Huron, Lorain, Ottawa, Richland, Sandusky and Seneca.

Cuyahoga County

• Brooklyn High School (Polaris students should report to career center at their normal time)
• Cleveland Preparatory Academy
• Constellation Schools-Old Brooklyn Elementary
• Constellation Schools-Parma Community High

• Constellation Schools-Parma Community Middle
• Constellation Schools-Parma Community Pearl Road Elementary
• Constellation Schools-Puritas Community Elementary

Lorain County

• Eastview Elementary School
