( NewsNation ) — Lots of people who waited for hours in the sun outside Dodger Stadium on Wednesday are hoping their investment of time pays off in dollars, as they seek to make thousands by selling their bobblehead dolls of two-way superstar Shohei Ohtani and his dog Dekopin.

“I kind of cringe … at how much some of this stuff is going to cost,” card shop owner Matt Federgreen told The Los Angeles Times.

The Dodgers gave away 40,000 bobbleheads, which went to people who stood in huge lines that began forming about eight hours before the gates opened. Hours later, the dolls started showing up on eBay and other commerce sites for anywhere from $150 to well over $10,000.

The team included an unknown number of gold Ohtani bobbleheads in the giveaway. And one ambitious entrepreneur listed his limited-edition gold bobblehead for more than $69,000 .
