The victim is believed to be 14 years old but deputies did not provide an update on her condition.

Deputies said following the stabbing, a male subject was chased into a nearby wooded area.

Lake County K9 and aviation units, detectives and patrol officers from several surrounding areas are now conducting a search for the person responsible.

Deputies described the wanted individual as a “dark-skinned male” who has long hair and was last spotted in a wooded area behind homes in the 6100 block of Oak Valley Drive in Lowell.

Authorities are warning residents in the area that the person they are searching for may be with other males and they should be considered armed and dangerous.

Residents who live near the area where the stabbing occurred are advised to keep their homes and vehicles locked and notify authorities of any suspicious activity.

Anyone with information on the stabbing is asked to contact 911 immediately.
