PAYSON, Utah ( ABC4 ) — An eight-year-old boy from Payson is sharing his experience making lemonade after life gave him lemons.

“When we were about to go see my brother, she was like, ‘OK kids, you need to gather some money,’ and I was like, ‘I’ll do a lemonade stand then,'” Conner Cook told NewsNation affiliate KTVX.

So, that’s exactly what eight-year-old Conner did to try and raise money to visit his brother in the Army in Georgia — and he said his lemonade stand was pretty profitable.

“I gathered over $700,” he said.

    But was it enough?

“My other brothers were helping, so they were doing their own things, they helped, and in the end we gathered $1,000,” Conner said.

That lemonade stand brought some sweet success — that money went to flying Conner to Georgia to spend five days with his brother.

“Last time when he came to us — and when we were at the airport getting ready to get him — as soon as I saw his face, I ran towards him,” Conner said. “My brothers, they ended up holding me down so I didn’t run into him.”

Conner said it was a sweet trip, but it’s good to be back in Utah.

“There’s no mountains in Georgia,” he said.

As for the future of his lemonade stand, Conner said it’s up in the air.
