( NewsNation ) — A benefit check will not arrive for Social Security Supplemental Security Income (SSI) recipients in September.

The reason relates to Sept. 1 falling on a Sunday, meaning checks were sent on Friday, Aug. 30.

Checks are widely received on the first of each month but approximately 7.5 million who receive SSI payments will have to pivot this month.
