    WATCH: Nevada US Senate Debate: Jacky Rosen and Sam Brown

    As the seconds tick away until Election Day on Nov. 5, Democratic incumbent Sen. Jacky Rosen and Republican challenger Sam Brown are set to debate the issues Nevadans are most concerned about heading into 2025 and beyond.

    “Your Local Election Headquarters: Nevada U.S. Senate Debate” is set to begin at 7 p.m. on Thursday. It will be the only time voters will be able to see Brown and Rosen discuss and challenge each other’s platforms in a debate setting.

    The debate will be moderated by 8 News Now anchors Denise Valdez , John Langeler , and education and politics reporter Joshua Peguero . In addition to this live stream, the debate will broadcast on 8 News Now, KLAS-TV channel 8 in Las Vegas, KINC-TV 15 Univision in Las Vegas, KTVN-TV in Reno, and KNVN-TV 41 Univision in Reno.

    “Your Local Election Headquarters: Nevada U.S. Senate Debate” will be simulcast on NewsNation. Those who want to watch the debate nationally can locate NewsNation on their cable provider.

    A Purple Heart recipient and small businessman, Brown was medically retired as a Captain after being injured in a roadside bomb explosion in Afghanistan in 2008. He later launched a small business providing emergency pharmaceutical support to veterans, according to his website. Brown and his wife, Amy Larsen, moved to Nevada after visiting the area early in their marriage, and they have three children.

    Senator Jacky Rosen

    The incumbent senator has served since 2018, having previously been elected to the U.S. House for Nevada’s District 3 in 2016. According to her website, Rosen has served on subcommittees on Cybersecurity, Strategic Forces, and Emerging Threats and Capabilities, among others. Rosen has been a Nevada resident for more than 40 years, living with her husband Larry in Henderson, according to her website biography.

    Election day is Nov. 5. Nevada voters can check registration status using the Secretary of State’s voter registration page .
