Meghan McCain Issues ‘Final Warning’ To Kamala Harris For Praising Her Father, Late Sen. John McCain

For whatever reason, Sen. John McCain’s daughter, Meghan McCain , is really unhappy with Democrats for allegedly sullying her late father’s good name by — *checks notes* — saying really nice things about him.

“Now, I know democrats want to reinvent history and turn my Dad into any illusion you guys need him to be depending on the political moment you need to bastardize his memory for. But please don’t make me start sharing what I remember him ACTUALLY saying about Kamala Harris,” McCain tweeted, adding in a follow-up post , “And consider this my final warning, I will start spilling tea.”

First of all, I’m not sure why McCain is acting like she’s some kind of mob boss Karen whose “final warning” should have Democrats shaking in their boots because she might reveal that she heard her daddy say something negative about Harris, or whatever. She could start “spilling tea” all she wants if her intent is to look petty and attention-starved while doing nothing to slow Harris’ momentum, which certainly hasn’t been contingent on her praise for the late senator and war veteran. It just feels kind of odd that with all the back-and-forth bickering Democrats and Republicans do on a daily basis, members of one party reaching across the aisle to sing the praises of a member of the other side is also a reason to be hostile. It’s as if cynicism is the only language spoken in the world of politics these days.

Recalling a time she crossed paths with John McCain in Congress after a tense committee hearing earlier in the day, Harris remembered the former U.S. Navy officer telling her, “Kid, come over here. You’re going to make a great senator.”

She also called McCain, who died in 2018 of brain cancer, an “incredible American hero” during a Thursday rally in the Grand Canyon State.

Harris and her allies seem to be hoping they can sway undecided Republican voters by aligning the vice president with the memory of McCain, whose more moderate style of conservative politics made him a target of former President Donald Trump .

OK, fine, maybe McCain just doesn’t appreciate Democrats playing politics with her dead father’s name. Still, one can only wonder if she had considered that if going off on Harris and the Democratic party over publicly complimenting her father did have an impact on the Harris campaign, she would only be serving the man who repeatedly berated her father before and after he died.

In 2015, Donald Trump said this about John McCain: “He’s not a war hero. He was a war hero because he was captured. I like people who weren’t captured.” In 2019, a year after McCain’s death, he told reporters , “I never was a fan of John McCain, and I never will be.” This was just two of several times Trump went out of his way to take shots at Meghan’s father, and while she has had plenty of smoke for Trump over the years, it’s weird that she’s giving that same energy to Harris, who has never publicly said anything negative about the man she now praises an “American hero.”

Speaking of Trump’s constant disrespect and disregard for U.S. military veterans, Harris’ VP pick, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, honored the legacy of Sen. McCain last week during a stop at the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) post in Chandler, Arizona, where he also praised McCain as a hero and declared that he “wouldn’t put up with” Trump’s treatment of veterans.

It’s worth noting, by the way, that John McCain’s son, Jim McCain, isn’t salty like his big sister is about Democrats giving his father his flowers, and, in fact, he showed love to Harris and Waltz instead of threatening to arbitrarily tear them down.

Jim McCain spoke first and addressed his recent decision to register as a Democrat and endorse Harris.

“This is the time for courage and for standing up for what is right, even when it’s hard,” McCain said. “We must elect Vice President Harris and Governor Tim Walz.”

McCain said he sees the same qualities that his father had in Harris and Walz, namely his spirit for putting “country over party.”

Sounds like the McCain kids are going to be having some interesting debates over Thanksgiving dinner this year. Good luck with all that.
