Another (Recycled) MAGA Lie: Nazis At Recent Trump Event Were Really Undercover Liberals

MAGA Republicans are, if nothing else, comically predictable. Over the weekend, a band of neo-Nazis joined a pro-Donald Trump event hosted by his son and daughter-in-law, Eric and Lara Trump. They’d promoted the event as “ the mother of all TRUMP boat parades .”

When I reported on the event Tuesday, I predicted that Trump supporters would claim–without evidence–that the white supremacists who joined the boat parade shouting racial slurs and flying swastika flags, were actually federal agents in disguise.

    Well, I was close.

Instead of floating around unsubstantiated rumors of government employees cosplaying white supremacists for the sole purpose of making Republicans look bad, Trump’s campaign is claiming without substantiated evidence that it was “liberal activists” who were dressing as Nazis two weeks before Halloween for the sole purpose of making Republicans look bad.

“Kamala’s supporters are reaching all-time lows. Social media posts show that genuine Trump supporters identified these idiots as liberal activists trying to create fake news,” Trump campaign spokesperson Karoline Leavitt told Newsweek . “They clearly responded accordingly.”

Have you noticed that Trump, his campaign, his running mate, and his supporters pivot to “people on the internet are saying it” every time they have to back up ridiculous claims they make? Notice how their “proof” never amounts to even a modicum of tangible evidence, let alone actual proof? In lieu of proof, they offer vague “trust me, bro” references from the bowels of social media.

    From Newsweek:

The posts Leavitt referenced included a widely circulated video that showed another group of Trump supporters using their boat’s engine to douse the alleged fascists with water. The Trump campaign did not provide evidence of a false-flag operation organized by the political left.

Trump supporters couldn’t find actual footage that would indicate the Nazis were “liberal activists” in disguise. Instead, they shared photos of white nationalist groups splashing each other in the water.

    I mean — ok?

    Yawn

Seriously, MAGA Republicans are just lazy. When white supremacists staged a demonstration in Texas on behalf of Trump, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene claimed, without a spec of evidence, that it was a “ fed operation .”

When Trump supporters stormed the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, other Trump supporters claimed the rioters were actually Antifa members posing as MAGA minions. Listen: I’m sure some of these people believe their delusional white nonsense. Some of them truly see themselves as non-racists who simply love (white) America, and that’s why they’re not ready to grapple with the possibility that they keep drawing the attention of white supremacists because something about their ideology makes them feel comfortable.

    From my previous report:

MAGA has proven itself to be a MAGA-net for Nazis, Ku Klux Klan members and other assorted white supremacists, and its supposedly non-racist members barely even question it. Instead, many of them claim , with no evidence, of course, that government operatives are posing as white supremacist groups and infiltrating their rallies, protests and campaign events, but it never seems to occur to them how much they sound like KKKindred spirits when they speak about immigrants in the most racist, xenophobic and dehumanizing ways possible, shout “DEI hire” at every Black person in a position of influence or power, and defend the same Confederate flags white supremacists love waving around. Even their beloved great replacement theory is a product of white supremacist theology.

After all, Klan members aren’t showing up to Democratic campaign stops and running for various offices as registered Democrats. Nazis aren’t marching and demonstrating in support of Democratic leaders while waving around bigoted banners that easily reflect Democratic policies. Democrats aren’t declining to seek reelection because they received negative attention after defending the KKK . White nationalist terrorists aren’t getting arrested and turning out to be Kamala Harris supporters once their social media content is investigated. These are uniquely Republican problems.

    The struggle…continues?

Leavitt told Newsweek that Trump “abhors the hatred implied in these images,” and that “President Trump is steadfast in the fight against bigotry.”

Here’s a question: Do Trump’s people understand that cameras have recorded the things that come out of Trump’s mouth?

When Trump repeated racist lies about Haitians who were living peacefully–and legally– in Springfield, Ohio, he wasn’t fighting bigotry. He was promoting it on national platforms–including a nationally televised debate stage. When he claimed Black and Hispanic migrants have “ bad genes ” that predispose them to commit murder, he wasn’t just espousing bigotry, he was espousing the exact kind of bigotry that would attract eugenics-loving Nazis.

When Trump repeatedly compares migrants to Hannibal Lecter , calls them “animals” who are “not human”, claiming they’re “ poisoning the blood ” of the country, and audibly wishes the U.S. received more white immigrants from “nice” European countries,” he is telling the world, loudly and proudly exactly who he is.

MAGA attracts white nationalists for the same reason lying down with dogs gives you fleas. That’s not a conspiracy, it’s basic cause and effect.
