    Parents Encouraged To Get Kids Vaccinated Ahead Of New School Year

    As South Florida schools get ready to open their doors next week it's time for parents to continue checking off that back-to-school to-do list. Dr Ashwin Vasan says make sure you kids have all the vaccinations they need. Parents are encouraged to protect their kids against vaccine-preventable diseases like polio, tetanus and measles, mumps and rubella. They're also encouraged to give kids another COVID shot ahead of the school year. Florida schools require specific shots for incoming Kindergarten and 7th graders. August marks national vaccine awareness month.
