Lawsuit: Massive Breach of Billions of Records Linked to Broward Company

Alarm bells sounding after hackers pulled of perhaps the biggest breach ever and it involves a South Florida data company.

Billions of unencrypted records containing the personal data of possibly all Americans have been sold on the dark web by the hacker group called USDoD, according to a lawsuit.

The suit alleges that hackers breached the server of National Public Data in Coral Springs scooping up names, social security numbers, and addresses.

Cyber expert Alan Crowetz says NPD is required to notify everyone impacted by the breach which was detected by an identity theft protection company in April.

Crowetz says "If you're concerned about your information being stolen, monitor your credit card statements and invest in identity theft protection."
