Granddaughter Arrested for Threatening 81-Year-Old Grandfather With Knife

Liberty City, FL - A domestic dispute inside a Liberty City home landed a 21-year-old woman in jail after she threatened her 81-year-old grandfather with a knife.

Authorities say the suspect, identified as Henessy Tirado, was arrested on Wednesday and charged with aggravated assault on a person aged 65 or older.

According to police, the incident escalated from a disagreement over a car ride.

Police say Tirado became enraged when her grandfather didn’t comply with her request for a ride.

The argument turned violent as Tirado grabbed a kitchen knife and pointed it at the elderly man.

Witnesses corroborated the victim's account, with one witness telling police Tirado threatened to stab her grandfather “just like my mom used to.”

Tirado subsequently fled the scene but was later apprehended by authorities.

She is currently in custody at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center awaiting a bond hearing.
