Man Arrested On DUI Charges While Inside Parked Car At Florida Library

Fruitland Park, FL - A 39-year-old man was arrested last week after officers discovered him under the influence while parked in his car at a Panama City Beach library.

Authorities say the suspect, identified as Carl Rex Hubbard, was allegedly found sitting in a blue Kia Sorrento with the keys in the ignition around 10:30 a.m. Thursday morning at the Fruitland Park library.

According to police, officers responded to the library after receiving reports of a disturbance.

A witness told police that Hubbard had been consuming alcohol from a bottle, later identified as Jim Beam whiskey, which was discarded nearby.

Hubbard was asked to perform field sobriety tests due to officers believing he was impaired.

The breathalyzer tests confirmed the officer's suspicions, with Hubbard registering blood alcohol content levels of .128 and .119.

He was taken into custody on DUI charges.
