Miami Beach, FL - A man wanted for pointing a gun at a city commissioner was arrested after a four-day manhunt that ended with a shoplifting incident at a Walgreens.

Authorities say the suspect, identified as 35-year-old Christopher Pitre, was arrested after allegedly pointing a gun at Miami Beach Commissioner Joe Magazine.

According to Magazine, Pitre broke into his SUV, which was parked in the parking garage of his condominium, on April 11th.

The commissioner said he discovered Pitre sleeping inside the vehicle and confronted him, causing Pitre to flee the scene.

Magazine tells WSVN that as he followed Pitre out of the garage “I said, ‘Get back here,’ calling 911 as well. He turns around, he’s about five feet in front of me, and he has a gun. He points it at my chest, there’s a red laser beam that’s on my chest. I just put up my hands.”

After a few seconds, Pitre turned around and left the condominium's garage.

    Days later, police arrested Pitre.

In court, Miami-Dade Circuit Court Judge Ariel Rodriguez granted Pitre house arrest.

However, on Tuesday, while under house arrest, Pitre disabled his ankle monitor and escaped a treatment facility in Homestead where he was living.

Pitre's recapture came after a shoplifting incident at a local Walgreens.

He was taken into custody on charges of petit theft, fleeing from police, and tampering with his ankle monitor.
