Car Slams Into House, Driver Returns to Apologize in Spring Hill

SPRING HILL -- A car slammed into a house in Hernando County early Monday morning, heavily damaging the front entrance and rendering it temporarily unlivable.

Hernando Fire Rescue responded to the 1200 block of Newhope Road just before sunrise. They say the residents were unhurt but the driver of the car was taken to a hospital. The county building inspectors checked to see whether the home could be reoccupied.

As News Channel 8 reporter Trevor Sochocki spoke to the family, a man drove up claiming to be the driver, and offered a tearful apology for the crash. See more at this link.
