Man Charged With Murdering His Elderly Father In Their South Florida Home

Miami-Dade, FL - A 53-year-old man has been arrested and charged with murdering his 81-year-old father at their Fontainebleau home.

Authorities say the suspect, identified as David Scott Buer, was taken into custody on Saturday evening after police responded to a call about an unresponsive man at the family residence.

Upon arrival, officers found Paul Buer deceased in his bed.

Initially, David claimed his father had accidentally fallen three days prior, resulting in the numerous bruises found on the victim's body.

However, inconsistencies in David's story and the presence of blood spatter and smears throughout the home raised suspicions among investigators.

An autopsy by the Miami-Dade Medical Examiner's Office determined that Paul's death was a homicide caused by strangulation.

The medical examiner concluded that the victim's injuries were inconsistent with a fall.

David Buer was taken into custody without bond at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center on a first-degree murder charge.

An investigation into Paul's death is ongoing.
