Southwest Florida Man Arrested For Stealing Antique Slot Machine

DeSoto County, FL - A Southwest Florida man has been arrested for stealing an antique slot machine from a DeSoto County truck stop.

Authorities say 31-year-old Andres Vazquez was caught on camera breaking into the Arcadia Truck Stop and stealing the slot machine.

Deputies initiated a foot chase after Vazquez fled the scene.

Vazquez was apprehended after hiding in a nearby backyard.

Deputies searched his property and recovered the stolen slot machine, along with bolt cutters, a backpack containing a gun, and other stolen items.

Vazquez is facing multiple charges, including burglary, possession of a weapon (as a convicted felon), resisting arrest, damage to property, larceny, burglary of tools, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, drug possession, and drug equipment possession.

He is currently being held at the DeSoto County Jail.
