Florida High School Placed On Lockdown After Student Stabbing Incident

Palm Bay, FL - A Florida high school was placed on lockdown on Monday after a student was reportedly stabbed in the abdomen with a pair of scissors.

Authorities say Palm Bay High School was placed on lockdown Monday afternoon following a stabbing incident involving two students.

According to Melbourne police, an altercation between the students escalated when one student was stabbed in the abdomen with a pair of scissors, while the other sustained a cut on the hand.

Both students were quickly transported to separate hospitals, where they were reported to be in stable condition.

The school initially entered lockdown but shifted to a shelter-in-place status.

Melbourne police indicated that Monday's attack appears to be an isolated incident with no ongoing threat to the public.
