Opa-locka, FL - A meeting in Opa-locka became contentious on Tuesday as residents voiced their opposition to a recently passed ordinance banning RVs within the city's limits.

The ordinance, which is set to go into effect on September 30th, sparked outrage among RV owners who say the measure will have a significant impact on their lives.

The RV ban has ignited a heated debate, highlighting the challenges faced by many residents who rely on RVs for transportation or housing.

Several attendees at Tuesday's meeting expressed frustration and disappointment with the city's decision.

Some individuals walked out of the meeting in protest, while others raised their voices to express their concerns.

One resident, who received a letter from the city of Opa-locka notifying them of the ordinance, criticized the lack of input from those who would be directly affected.

"They basically took a decision for all of us," he told NBC 6 , adding that RV owners have a right to be heard.

Despite the public outcry, city officials maintain that the ordinance was passed after a thorough review process and that no appeals were received during the designated 10-day period.
