Miami, FL - A new survey has ranked Miami as the rudest city in the United States.

The survey, conducted by language-learning site Preply , asked residents and visitors to rate the rudeness of various cities and found that Miamians themselves believe their city is the rudest.

The survey identified several rude behaviors, including lack of awareness in public, loudness in shared spaces, and rudeness to service staff members.

Miami scored a 9.88 out of 10 on the rudeness scale.

Miami is not alone in its reputation for rudeness, as other Florida cities, including Tampa, ranked high on the list.

Preply 's latest survey aimed to assess whether rudeness levels in the United States have evolved since their initial study in 2022.

To replicate the methodology of the previous survey, Preply questioned Americans nationwide about a range of impolite behaviors they encounter in their daily lives.

These inquiries encompassed interactions with strangers and service staff, as well as inconsiderate phone usage in public and other common annoyances.

Preply assigned scores to responses that indicated a higher frequency of rudeness, calculated average scores for each city, and scaled these scores from 0 to 10, with 10 representing the rudest.

Expanding upon the original study, Preply included 16 new cities in their latest survey.

By comparing the rankings from 2022 to those of 2024, Preply was able to gauge shifts in residents' behavior over this two-year period.
