Broward County, FL - Authorities are searching for a suspect or suspects involved in two separate attempted kidnappings of teenage girls on Thursday morning.

Authorities say a 17-year-old girl was approached by a man who attempted to force the girl into his car at gunpoint near Stranahan High School in Fort Lauderdale.

The man, described as a light-skinned Black or Hispanic male between 20 and 25 years old with short curly hair, was driving a gray four-door sedan (possibly a Nissan) with dark tints and a missing front passenger hubcap.

The victim repeatedly refused and the suspect fled the scene.

Authorities say that earlier that same morning, a 15-year-old girl walking near the 200 block of Northwest 12th Court in Pompano Beach was approached by a man in a gray-colored sedan.

The suspect, described as an adult male between 20 and 35 years old with facial hair, demanded the girl enter his vehicle.

The victim managed to escape and the suspect drove away.

Investigators are looking into a possible connection between the two incidents.

Community members are urged to be vigilant and report any suspicious activity to authorities.

Anyone with information regarding Thursday's incident in Fort Lauderdale is urged to contact Detective Erica Payne at 954-828-6487 or Broward County Crime Stoppers anonymously at 954-493-TIPS (8477).
