Buc-ee's Treasure Coast Is One Step Closer To Reality

Plans to put a Buc-ee's along the Treasure Coast were discussed by the St. Lucie County Commission last night.

It was the first of two hearings where the rezoning of land was the topic of discussion. The new gas station-retail store would be built off I-95 and Indrio Road in Fort Pierce.

The chain also wants to build a 100-foot tall sign along the Interstate, which would be taller than allowed by the county.

There will be another meeting on September 17th, where commissioners will vote on whether to move forward.

Following that, the developer would have to file a final site plan to be approved by the county's development review committee.

This would be Florida's 4th Buc-ee's location with two operating in Daytona Beach and St. Augustine and one in Ocala in the works.
