Daytona Beach, FL - A vigilant good Samaritan discovered 2 pounds of fentanyl washed up on the shores of Daytona Beach.

The individual alerted authorities, leading to the seizure of over 2 pounds of the deadly drug by U.S. Border Patrol agents.

In a post on X , the U.S. Border Patrol - Miami Sector issued a stern warning to the public.

"Do not attempt to disturb or handle any suspicious packages along the shoreline. "Contact local authorities immediately," said Andrew Scharnweber, interim chief patrol agent.

While the specific origin of the fentanyl remains unknown, the seizure highlights the ongoing challenges posed by drug smuggling and the potential dangers associated with encountering illicit substances.
