The Palm Beach County School District wants to get feedback from parents on some changes that must be made due to a state law.

Florida school districts are being tasked with making sure that middle schools don't start classes earlier than 8 a.m. and high schools don't start until 8:30 at the earliest. All this beginning in 2026/2027 academic year.

Palm Beach County School leaders have three different options they want to run by parents, so they've set up an online survey .

One would have middle schoolers finishing the day at nearly 5 p.m., while another would have high school students not starting until 9:15 in the morning.

The superintendent says the same school buses are used to shuttle all kids of all three school levels to class so the effects will have to impact everyone.

There will also be series of community meetings starting next Thursday.

    Thursday, Sep. 12, 2024 5:30 - 6:30 p.m. Central/West Wellington; Community High School; 2101 Greenview Shores Blvd., Wellington, FL, 33414
