Miami, FL - Bodycam footage has been released of Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill being detained by Miami-Dade police officers outside Hard Rock Stadium on Sunday before the team's season opener against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

The incident was captured on bodycam footage released by authorities on Monday.

In the footage, Hill is seen driving up to the stadium and being pulled over by officers.

After a brief exchange, Hill is placed in handcuffs and detained.

The reason for the detainment remains under investigation, but Miami-Dade Police Director Stephanie Daniels stated that one officer involved has been placed on administrative leave.

Following the incident, Hill addressed reporters, stating, "I wasn't disrespectful... because my mom didn't raise me that way, didn't curse, none of that."

The South Florida Police Benevolent Association, the union representing Miami-Dade police officers, released a statement defending the officers' actions.

According to the union, Hill's refusal to cooperate and his aggressive driving led to the detainment.

"He (Hill) was briefly detained for officer safety, after driving in a manner in which he was putting himself and others in great risk of danger," the union said in a statement. "Upon being stopped, Mr. Hill was not immediately cooperative with the officers on scene who, pursuant to policy and for their immediate safety, placed Mr. Hill in handcuffs."

As the investigation continues, more details about the incident are expected to emerge.
