It's the 23rd anniversary of 9/11 and there are a number of ways to honor those lost on that tragic day.

The Boynton Beach 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony is being held at Centennial Park and Amphitheater with the city's police and fire rescue departments taking part, alongside members of the Boynton Beach Community High School Choir and others. That begins at 8 a.m.

The Riviera Beach 9/11 Memorial Ceremony also begins at 8, at Fire Station 88 along West Blue Heron Boulevard. It will feature the presentation of colors and Riviera Beach Fire Chief John Curd will address the crowd.

This evening, Palm Beach County Fire Rescue will hold their 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony at the Duncan Theater at Palm Beach State College in Lake Worth. The keynote speaker will be a firefighter who worked for nearly a month at Ground Zero. Also, retired FDNY firefighters will showcase a memorial fire engine displaying the names of all 343 firefighters who died.

That event begins at 6 p.m. as does a ceremony at the Wellington Patriot Memorial, where you'll find one of the largest steel beams salvaged from the World Trade Center, as well as an eternal flame fountain, and etched glass panels inscribed with the names of the victims.
