Miami Commissioners expected to revive their pension program, suspended more than a decade ago during a financial crisis. Commissioner Damian Pardo was one of two commissioners voting no on the first reading. He says voters should have final say since the money comes from a taxpayer-funded program. If approved, elected officials would become eligible to get a pension after staring their seventh year of service and once they've turned 62 or after ten years and once they've turned 60. The amount would be equal to one-half of their highest compensation with the city.
