Another Florida Student Arrested For Threats Against His School

It's been a busy school year for those investigating school threats in Florida.

The latest incident involves a 16-year old boy arrested for a social media post that threatened Vero Beach High School.

The Indian River County Sheriff's Office says the post was immediately brought to the attention of school administrators who then called authorities. Detectives identified the teen quickly and during questioning say he admitted to making the post.

The teen was taken into custody at his home and booked on counts of making a written threat to kill or cause great bodily harm. Investigators say there's no indication the boy intended to carry out the threat or any other acts of violence.

In a Facebook post, the Sheriff's Office says they are proud of their collaboration with school officials and proud of the students for being vigilant and reporting a concern when they hear or see something.

They also promised an increased law enforcement presence at the school.
