Broward County is marking Banned Books week with the "I Read Banned Books" campaign. Library Director Allison Grubbs says the weeklong event celebrates the books and authors banned in our state and highlights the state's laws restricting certain titles. Last year, PEN America found there are more books bans in Florida than any other state. Governor Ron DeSantis says there are no banned books in Florida, but they will not allow books with sexually explicit material and instruction in classrooms.

And Tango Makes Three has been mentioned in numerous censorship and culture war debates on same-sex marriage, adoption, and homosexuality in animals.[2] The American Library Association (ALA) reports that And Tango Makes Three was the most frequently challenged book from 2006 to 2010, and the second most frequently challenged in 2009.[2][3][4] Ultimately, it became the fourth-most challenged book between 2000 and 2009,[5] as well as the sixth-most challenged book between 2010 and 2019.[Just that one book has been spoken out about for YEARS ... like: let PARENTS VOTE. More parents and grandparents HAVE to run for school boards or else schools will keep going down in darkness. They love the dark. People love their sin, it's in our makeup 🤷
